MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

2025 Record Conundrum … Posted by Dalew2009

I have been going back and forth regarding this teams win total in 2025. My orange and green Canes classes tell me 10-2 or 11-1. But when I step back and assess the overall team, I can’t help but see 9-3 or even, gulp, 8-4.

like most, I believe this team is going to take a major step forward on defense. However, we still have question marks up the middle of our defense. Our DT’s are unproven and we lack depth. Our S position is a major concern. When the fans tried to dismiss the loss of AJ Haulcey as not a big deal, it was ridiculous in my opinion. At LB we have mediocrity and a guy who could be great, but is coming off 2 major knee injuries.

On offense, I like Beck.I think we are still good at the position and I think nationally Beck is being underrated, but i think we will
miss the playmaking ability of Cam Ward. And I believe the WR corps is going to be somewhat of a problem. You don’t lose your top 6 pass catchers and just reload without skipping a beat. That would be hard for Ohio state, and believe me, we haven’t recruited like Ohio State at that position.

We are worse at kicker. How many big kicks did AB make over the last couple of years that played a major role in pulling some games out? This kid from Texas is an okay kicker at the college level, but he’s not AB by any means.

So with all that being said, I don’t think this team is as good as last years team, and I think we play a harder schedule. Until proven otherwise, I don’t trust this team to finish the season strong and their final two games are on the road in cold weather environments that are going to be very tough games.

For all those reasons, I think this team has a floor of 8-4 and a ceiling of 10-2, but I see 9-3 with another missed ACCCG and no trip to the playoffs.

MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY

“Everything was good. They’re really in force trying to get back to what they (were) back in the old days. They’re trying to get back to when they won national championships and I see the vision. They had a good year this past year and they’re trying to build on what they had.”
