WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

It’s finally here! Fall practice begins this morning, so stay tuned for our news and notes from the practice field, video and photos of the day’s work and what coach Mario Cristobal and players are talking about afterward. Today starts the journey that Miami hopes ends in the playoffs.

Also be sure to check out all our updates from yesterday’s Media Day, including what both coordinators and QBs Carson Beck and Emory Williams plus DT Donta Simpson are talking about plus a photo gallery.

Then there’s some more new updates for you this morning.

We look at the five key storylines to follow with fall drills beginning. And we’re finally at No. 1 on our July Performance Index. Find out why we have Beck listed above Francis Mauigoa and Rueben Bain.

In recruiting we catch up with Marietta (Ga.) Kell three-star 2026 Missouri safety commit Tony Forney, who is a new name Miami’s chasing.

And there’s been no shortage of buzz around USC for coveted IMG Academy four-star interior offensive lineman Breck Kolojay in recent days, but Miami isn’t out of the mix for the 6-foot-5, 320-pound prospect by any means. The decision is coming tomorrow.

Plus in basketball don’t miss what coach Jai Lucas was saying yesterday about his rebuilt team.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

Prediction … Posted by ridsy87

I look at this way, we have a significant talent gap between all of our ACC opponents, except maybe SMU and Louisville we have a talent gap but not as much- think we go 10-2 with one acc loss and possible split fl/notre dame. Also, I dont agree with the DT assessment. Moten and lacy solid and all reports is that scott is going to very good, blount is 270 and has pedigree to play DT on third and long. Jones, simpson have size. Maybe, we get a late filler at DT for depth like we did at safety. While our situation at DT is not great, its not any worse than any other acc team, except clemson.

MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY

“Football is football, so learning a new offense – at least for me – is not super difficult. The words are different, but everybody runs the same stuff, same plays. Defense is defense, same coverages, same blitzes. People try something new that other people try to copy and take – it’s football. It’s honestly been a pretty seamless transition and coach Dawson has done a great job helping me transition into this offense.”
