WHAT’S UP TODAY
First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?
Game week is finally here, so be sure to tune in tonight at 8 p.m. for a new edition of CaneSport Live with host Gary Ferman plus Matt Shodell and Bruce Warner as they interact with fans and share their thoughts on the upcoming game vs. the Gators and more.
Also stay tuned later this morning for feedback from players after practice wraps up.
To hold you over till then we also have a closer look at the hype around the Miami offense – will Shannon Dawson’s side of the ball live up to expectations? We dive into that.
And yesterday afternoon, of course, we brought you everything that Mario Cristobal, Shannon Dawson, Lance Guidry and Director of Athletics Dan Radakovich were talking about heading into the opener … plus key takeaways from what they were saying. And we also get the other sideline’s take, with Gators coach Billy Napier sharing his perspective on the Canes.
In recruiting?
CaneSport watched more than half a dozen top Miami commits and recruits over the next three recruiting cycles play on national television this weekend, including the Hurricanes’ 2025 four-star quarterback commit Luke Nickel and Florida’s No. 1 prospect in the 2026 cycle, Derrek Cooper. We grade their performances.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY
You don’t want FSU and Clemson to be bad … Posted by Canes 1366
Best case scenario for playoff seeding is for Miami and Clemson to win out. You don’t want to be the lowest seed conference champion. Even if we lost the ACC championship game we probably would be the highest non conference seeded teams which is important.
MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY
“Luke Nickel will perform at a very high level for Shannon Dawson. He’s going to trust him and like the way he coaches. He’s attracted some players to now, and if he can get down here and some of the other kids around the country come with him, there’s a big future down here.”
