WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

We have updates from the practice field for you, including catching up with Carson Beck with the massive Notre Dame challenge around the corner.

There’s our U Bet CaneSport with Lee Sterling to check out, too, as he breaks down the odds for the Miami-Notre Dame and other top college contests.

In recruiting?

Miami hasn’t hesitated to shoot its shot with five-star 2027 talent early, including the No. 3 overall prospect expected to attend the Hurricanes’ season opener against Notre Dame this weekend. His thoughts?

Defensive lineman Jayden Travers dominated in St Frances Academy’s drubbing of Chaminade-Madonna this past Saturday night, and Travers told CaneSport that Miami is one of the schools that reaches out to him the most.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

8/31/2025 … Posted by Miami-Canes07

Here we go, Canes fam — Week 1 against Notre Dame. No doubt, they’ve got some talent: a solid offensive line, a tough secondary, and a running back in Jeremiyah Love who can absolutely ball. The kid’s quick, explosive, and if he gets daylight, he can make defenses pay.

But here’s the problem for ND — it all comes down to their quarterback. Their best player by far in 2024 was QB Riley Leonard, he rushed for 909 yards and throw for another 2800 with 17 running TDs and threw for another 21, how can you replace that production they’re throwing an unproven arm into the fire against Miami’s front seven. That’s not a good look. You can have the best line and a star RB, but if the QB can’t move the chains consistently, the whole thing stalls out.

Love might break a play or two, but over four quarters? Our defense is gonna load the box, make their QB win it, and force turnovers. Once that happens, it’s all Canes. Our speed on offense will eventually burn their secondary, and then it’s lights out.

MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY

(Seth Clarin Photography)

“I feel great. I feel I’m the best I’ve ever been. I’m in a great mindset, mentality. The guys around me have been working their tails off. I’m really excited for the opportunity. I feel like I’m in a great spot mentally, physically, just all-around.”
