WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

We of course had all your news from the practice field yesterday, including news and notes, team feedback, videos and more. There’s a ton of information to check out, with a particular emphasis on both sides of the line of scrimmage that will be keys to Miami’s fortunes this season.

In recruiting we also have an update with four-star Miami running back commit Javian Mallory, who has Michigan pushing to try and flip him.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

If you’re running the ball 50% of the time, you’re not Air Raid—you’re a balanced offense … Posted by Calm with eye contact

True Air Raid teams usually throw 65–75% of time with, simple in play design
10 personnel (4 WR, 1 RB) or empty sets
Spread the field horizontally,
Emphasize short, quick throws and timing routes

Dawson and a lot of coaches call their offense Air Raid to sound modern or quarterback-friendly, but they’re selling a brand, not a system. Recruits like hearing “Air Raid” because it means high passing volume and wide receiver stats.

Please stop the nonsense

MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY

Neil Gershman – Zooba Images

“We are going to score that ball a lot. We take pride in those guys behind us. We’re the tip of the spear. We (plan to give Beck) time to throw the ball to whichever wide receiver he wants, give the running backs holes to run through. We take pride in it.”
