MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

My observations … Posted by KJMahan

Great job
* Stopping the run – ND had 93 total yards on the ground against the best running backs and OL we see this year
* Offensive & defensive lines beat theirs, esp OL
* Our young WR’s look good. A lot of receivers were open against the best secondary we face. Plus they were holding us all night
* We tackled pretty well for a first game
* Our secondary did well against their WR’s who only had 98 yards receiving as a group
* We kept their LB’s out of the game completely
* Deep and talented RB room
* DT’s Blay & Moten stood out
* Turnover margin +2
* So many 2nd strings guys got meaningful reps and played well
* Maybe we have a kicker!

Opportunities
* Their TE was open all night
* The dang QB runs
* Some miscommunication picking up the blitz
* Some miscommunication on the backend
* Didn’t need to come down to the last drive. Could have won comfortably
* Refs tried desperately to give the game to ND
* Need our TE position more involved

We should have won by 13pts, but what a great team win!! Bodes well for the rest of the season since ND is the most talented overall team we face.
It’s great to be a Miami Hurricane

MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY

“You’re witnessing a team that’s been growing, developing the last several years. We actually closed a game out, that’s a pretty significant difference (from the past), step for a team,” he said.
