WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

Be sure to tune in at 8 p.m. tonight for CaneSport Live, as Gary Ferman and Izubee Charles discuss the team with fans.

Also stay tuned later as we’ll have your hoops fix, with Jim Larranaga and players sharing their thoughts.

Then we also have new recruiting updates for you.

A big one?

Bright and early Monday morning, Miami Hurricanes head coach Mario Cristobal jumped in a plane and made his way out to the West Coast for a visit with Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman four-star tight end Elija Lofton. So don’t miss that update.

Another big update?

Decision day is approaching for one of the top junior college prospects in the 2024 class in San Mateo (Calif.) defensive back Sione Laulea, and the Miami Hurricanes are in the thick of things leading up to the big day.

And Miami head coach Mario Cristobal was in Los Alamitos Monday to check up on 6-foot-3, 250-pound four-star tight end Davon Mitchell after stopping by Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman to check up on Miami four-star tight end commit Elijah Lofton that morning. Mitchell was formerly the No. 1 tight end in the 2025 recruiting class before reclassifying to 2024, where he now ranks as the No. 70 overall prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking and the No. 6 tight end. We have your news on that.

Then there was our update on Moultrie (Ga.) Colquitt County four-star 2024 receiver Ny Carr. He decommitted from Georgia recently, and Miami is already moving quickly on the No. 62 overall prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking. The Canes were at his school Monday, so read about that.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

I don’t know what WR post season coach award is but Beard is a beast on the field and on the trail … Posted by ShelbyFan

Kevin Beard has along with Dawson has taken a WR room that was bad and you have announcers saying they may be best as a whole group one of best in the nation. If you read any comments from recruits that Beard is involved with they all say Coach Beard is a good dude and is more than a guy recruiting them. Shout out to U Coach Beard and we glad you are home!

MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY

“It was good, and we just got done with the visit. Coach Cristobal is a great guy, and he’s been around going back to his time at Oregon. He’s a great stand-up coach and a great person. Just glad to have our kids go play for someone like that.”
