Miami had another massive visit official visit weekend chalked full of four-star recruits and No. 1 overall prospect and Hurricanes commit Jackson Cantwell. CaneSport’s Gary Ferman and Stephen Wagner sat down to break down the latest intel off Miami’s most recent visit weekend.

Miami’s staff has gained ground for top-50 EDGE/defensive lineman Bryce Perry-Wright, who recently included the Hurricanes in his top four along with Clemson, Texas and Texas A&M. Defensive line coach Jason Taylor has played a massive role in recruiting former Hurricane Ray Lewis’ nephew.

We think the Hurricanes are closing in on three-star interior offensive lineman and Miami legacy Canon Pickett, the younger brother of redshirt freshman defensive end Booker Pickett. Canon still has a visit to Florida coming up, but we’re overwhelmingly confident he’ll end up at The U.

Miami is locked in a tight battle with Georgia for four-star interior offensive lineman Breck Kolojay with Ohio State and Oklahoma rounding out the top four. We could see him ending up at either Miami or Georgia, but after this last visit weekend we’ll give a slight edge to the Hurricanes.

Four-star ATH/TE Heze Kent has been the top tight end target on Miami’s board this spring and will announce a decision July 12, but we could give a slight edge to Florida at the moment. There’s still optimism in Coral Gables they’ll be able to land the four-star prospect.

Miami is still in the mix for No. 1 defensive lineman James Johnson, and the Hurricanes will have a chance to end up in his final three later this summer, but we don’t think it’s a given he’ll end up in Coral Gables and dive into more detail.

We also touch on safety priorities Devin Jackson, who was once committed to secondary coach Will Harris at Florida and has remained a top target for the Canes through the spring, and Tyriq Green, who we think could end up between Miami and Georgia. And we’ll hit on three-star defensive tackle priority Tyson Bacon, who included the Hurricanes in his top two, and four-star receiver Brayden Robinson, who is high on Miami and Notre Dame.
