Inside Canes Recruiting podcast: Miami looks to finish OL class strong, latest on a local LB prospect and two talented EDGES visiting Coral Gables this weekend

On today’s Inside Canes Recruiting podcast, we go inside Miami’s latest commitment from this past weekend, talk about Miami’s pursuit of remaining offensive linemen in a rich 2026 offensive line cycle, a linebacker target who claims he’s could be shutting down his recruitment and two in-state pass rushers who jumped onto Miami’s official visit list this weekend.
Miami added its fifth offensive lineman of the cycle Saturday night by landing Orlando (Fla.) Boone three-star interior offensive lineman Rhys Woodrow, who now joins No. 1 overall prospect Jackson Cantwell, four-star offensive tackle Ben Congdon, three-star lineman Joel Ervin and three-star interior offensive lineman JJ Sparks in the Hurricanes’ offensive line group. Miami is still aggressively pursuing four-star interior lineman Breck Kolojay and three-star interior offensive lineman Canon Pickett to round out what has potential to be one of the country’s best offensive line classes.
We still love where Miami sits for Pickett and think there’s a realistic chance he commits to the Hurricanes at some point in June, although he also has official visits set with Clemson this weekend and Florida June 13. Miami is battling Georgia for Kolojay, who has already stated he expects NIL to play a role in his decision, so we’ll see what the two schools are or aren’t willing to commit to during his official visits.
CaneSport has also learned that, for now, the Hurricanes are cooling on four-star Florida State linebacker commit Karon Maycock from local powerhouse Miami Central, although we think it would make a ton of sense for Miami to look at revamping its push for him this fall. He told CaneSport last week he was considering shutting down his recruitment and fully locking in with FSU, who he surprisingly committed to in February, but we don’t believe his recruitment is fully over.

Local four-star St. Thomas Aquinas EDGE Daniel Norman recently jumped on Miami’s official visitor list for this weekend as the Hurricanes continue to evaluate the newly-minted blue-chip prospect. UCLA, Colorado and Oklahoma are also in his picture. Miami will additionally host recent Missouri decommit defensive tackle Anthony Kennedy and unranked EDGE DeAnthony Lafayette this weekend after defensive line coach Jason Taylor visited the two prospects at their schools earlier this month.
We’ll have a podcast episode previewing the full official visit weekend Friday, so be sure to check back later in the week for a more in-depth look at this weekend’s official visitors.
