Nov. 3, 2025

From the tough loss on Saturday afternoon we, of course, had tons of content – check out the postgame feedback from coach Mario Cristobal and players, Gary Ferman’s post-game column and his Q&A with fans, our full game analysis, grading the team, the Pro Football Focus analysis of Miami’s play, our photo gallery, video highlights and more.

We have your preview of the Canes with the hoops opener tonight, and stay tuned after the game for our full recap as well.

Miami has already flipped one prospect this fall in four-star defensive lineman Keshawn Stancil from Clemson, landed four-star receiver Milan Parris three weeks after he decommitted from Iowa State and is in an encouraging position to land four-star safety Blake Stewart following his decommitment from Clemson last week … but now we’re tracking four-star LSU EDGE commit DeAnthony Lafayette.

Another update: Marion (Mass.) Tabor Academy four-star 2026 UCLA defensive line commit Carter Gooden will visit Miami for the first time this weekend, several weeks after earning an offer from the Hurricanes. Miami has pushed to get the No. 178 overall prospect and No. 17 defensive lineman to campus since offering him Oct. 15.

There also was our Live From The Crib feature as Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas got its revenge on Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna for last fall’s loss in its 27-21 win over the Lions Friday night. And Miami is off to a strong early start with a few of St. Thomas’ best 2027 prospects. Find out about that.

CaneSport isn’t just providing your Miami Hurricanes round the clock news, we’re also good for your health! Because we’ve got your honest to goodness columns, features, analysis and news delivered with honestly, integrity and a little ESV sprinkled in. Corey Hetherman may use the motto ESV as “Excitement, Swarm, Violence” for his defense, but for us it’s “Excellence, Superb coverage and Violence.” Okay, fine, for us the V actually stands for “Value.” Because you can sign up for CaneSport for the $1 in change you find in your couch right now – yes, we’re talking to you. And we’ll throw in a year subscription to The Athletic with an annual CaneSport subscription. So get a CaneSport subscription now!

There’s no mail anymore. But there are CaneSport’s message boards, which is kind of the same thing just with the message delivered immediately. So be sure to check out all the latest Hurricanes perspective with your fellow fans!

Stay tuned this morning for Mario Cristobal’s thoughts off SMU with Syracuse up next, and later that afternoon we’ll get more from Cristobal plus hear from Shannon Dawson and Corey Hetherman. As mentioned earlier, it’s also the season-opener for Miami basketball, and we’ll have all your feedback off that. Have a great day and Go Canes!
