The Miami Hurricanes are gearing up for the next challenge against SMU on Saturday , with UM looking to play a complete game off the tale of two halves win vs. Stanford. And we’ve got coaches Mario Cristobal, Shannon Dawson and Corey Hetherman all sharing their perspective. What do they see in this next big challenge? Don’t miss all of that.

Plus you can check out our weekly feature Canes in the NFL with highlights and stats.

As we sit here this morning, one-loss Miami is on the outside looking in for the ACC championship game. Georgia Tech and Virginia are undefeated in conference play. After that the Canes are in a mix of four other teams with one loss in conference play, including a Louisville team that would hold a head-to-head tiebreaker after beating the Canes (Pitt, SMU and Duke are the other remaining teams with one loss in ACC play). Which brings us to today’s CaneSport roundtable topic: Does playing in the ACC title game matter? Would it be better for the Canes to be in that game or, perhaps … gasp … not play for the ACC title if Georgia Tech and Virginia run the table, for instance? In that latter scenario Miami would simply head to the playoffs as a one-loss team.

Chaminade-Madonna (Fla.) wide receiver Jasen Lopez has remained solid with his commitment to Florida State since pledging to the Seminoles in June, but that hasn’t stopped Miami’s coaching staff from keeping tabs on him. After Lopez visited UM for the game on Saturday we caught up with him.

Also visiting Saturday was former Oregon commitment Kesean Bowman. The Nashville (Tenn.) Brentwood Academy four-star 2027 WR is doing his due diligence and talks about his first trip to Hard Rock Stadium for a Miami game-day visit.

The Hurricanes offered Corbin (Ky.) four-star 2027 defensive lineman Malachi Brown last week in a move that flattered the 6-foot-4, 265-pound lineman. Brown said he “for sure” wants to try to visit South Florida, and we have your update with him.
