• Team captains Saturday were Tyler Van Dyke, DJ Ivey, Jahfari Harvey and Xavier Restrepo.
• Saturday’s game marked Mario Cristobal’s first game as head coach at the University of Miami.
OFFENSIVE TEAM & INDIVIDUAL NOTES
• The Hurricanes totaled 286 yards of offense, including 135 rushing yards, in the first half.
• Making the 10th start of his career, QB Tyler Van Dyke finished the first half with 151 yards on 10-for-12 passing with one touchdown.
• WR Xavier Restrepo had a career-long 52-yard reception on a first-half connection with Van Dyke. Restrepo had four catches for a career-high 90 yards and a touchdown in the half. • RB Henry Parrish, Jr., recorded three first-half touchdowns, marking his second career multi-touchdown performance and first three-touchdown game of his career.
• Parrish became the first Hurricane since DeeJay Dallas in 2019 with three rushing touchdowns in a single game.
• With 7:00 left in the first quarter, Thad Franklin Jr. scored a rushing touchdown – the Miami Hurricanes first touchdown of the 2022 season, and Franklin’s third career score.


DEFENSIVE TEAM & INDIVIDUAL NOTES
• The Hurricanes finished with four tackles for loss, two interceptions and one solo sack in the first half.
• DL Akheem Mesidor led the Hurricanes with four first-half tackles, which included a solo sack.
• LB Corey Flagg, Jr. had two tackles for loss in the first half.
• DB Gilbert Frierson recorded Miami’s first pick-six since Jahfari Harvey did it at North Carolina on October 16, 2021. Frierson picked off a pass and returned it 32 yards for the score. The
interception was the second of Frierson’s career.
• With 5:32 left in the first quarter, Kamren Kitchens recorded an interception on Bethune-Cookman QB Jalon Jones. It was the Miami Hurricanes’ first interception of the 2022 season, and it is
Kitchens’ first interception of his collegiate career.

• WR Key’Shawn Smith had the longest kickoff return of any Miami Hurricane since Corn Elder was credited with a 91-yard return against Duke on October 31, 2015.
