Miami Hurricanes basketball team departs for Final Four, and Jim Larranaga breaks things down as UM boards bus

The Miami Hurricanes basketball team departs today for Houston, where the team is one win against Connecticut away from playing for the national title.

The team held one final practice today before boarding a bus to the airport and Houston.

At practice coach Jim Larranaga compared his team’s situation to what Walt Disney dreamed up at his park over in Orlando when people told him it couldn’t be done.

“Everybody in college basketball dreams about the opportunity we have, dreams about it,” Larranaga said. “Now get to the Final Four is reality. But winning the national championship, moving onto the national championship game, that’s really special, very, very special. Dream about it, dream about our matchup with UConn. That’s the whole key. Mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually get ready for UConn.”

There also was a throng of fans that saw the team off.
