Michigan State adds commitment from '26 Texas DT Christopher Knauls Jr.

Michigan State continues to add to the 2026 recruiting class, this time adding Texas defensive tackle Christopher Knauls Jr. He announced his decision via social media after spending the weekend in East Lansing for an official visit.
The Spartan official visit was the first time in East Lansing for Knauls, who quickly shut down his recruitment.
The defensive tackle visited Boise State last weekend (May 30), canceling other scheduled official visits to Houston, Tulane, and Kansas to round out the month. His other offers include Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, California, Kansas State, Colorado, Utah, and others.
He is ranked the No. 950 overall recruit in the 2026 On3 Industry Rankings. Knauls is also ranked the No. 85 defensive lineman and the No. 140 recruit in Texas.
Knauls becomes the ninth commitment in the Michigan State 2025 recruiting class, the second from the June 6 official visit weekend. He joins Florida safety Eliyjah Caldwell-Hardy in committing to the Spartans fresh off the visits.
