Michigan State has been in search of help at the rush end position this spring. It was an area of emphasis even before the departure of Anthony Jones. Jones entered the transfer portal on April 16. He tallied 25 tackles (3.5 for a loss) and two sacks in 2024.
Michigan State rush ends coach Chad Wilt hosted former Texas Tech rush end Isaac Smith for an official visit during the spring period, receiving a commitment from Smith shortly after his visit. Smith (6-6, 240) battled injuries during his tenure with the Red Raiders, but logged 31 tackles and 2.5 sacks as a redshirt junior in 2024.
Michigan State will add Smith and Williams to a room that includes Wisconsin transfer Anelu Lafaele, Air Force transfer David Santiago, along with redshirt junior Tyler Gillison and redshirt freshmen walk-ons Stone Chaney and Jack Lamancusa.
