Michigan State LB Darius Snow enters the transfer portal

Michigan State redshirt junior linebacker Darius Snow entered the NCAA transfer portal on Monday, according to On3. As a graduate student, Snow could enter the portal prior to the fall transfer window, which opens on Dec. 4.
The 6-foot-1, 230-pound linebacker had 98 tackles, one interception and one fumble recovery in 24 games played at Michigan State.
Snow started nine games for Michigan State in 2021, playing safety and nickel back. Following a transition from defensive back to linebacker during the offseason, Snow earned one of the two starting linebacker roles in 2022. But Snow would suffer a serious season-ending knee injury just 29 snaps into the season opener against Western Michigan.
After a lengthy rehab process, Snow returned to the field in 2023 for the Spartans’ week three matchup against Washington. Snow played in just four games for the Spartans in 2023.
The Frisco, Tex., native committed to former head coach Mark Dantonio and his staff in April 2019. Snow arrived in East Lansing during the spring semester. However, Snow did not have the chance to play for Dantonio, who retired in February 2020. Michigan State named Mel Tucker head coach shortly after Dantonio’s retirement.
