Michigan State receives commitment from 2026 Seattle DE Fameitau Siale

Michigan State continued to add to its 2026 recruiting haul when it landed a surprise commitment from three-star Seattle (Wash.) O’Dea defensive lineman Fameitau Siale. Siale (6-2, 260) took an official visit to Michigan State over the weekend of May 30.

Following their trip to East Lansing, Siale and his family visited hometown program Washington before the defensive lineman opted to shut down his recruitment and commit to the Spartans. Siale’s commitment serves as a strong recruiting win for Michigan State, given his many connections to the Huskies.

Washington tabbed Siale’s close mentor, Marcus Griffin, as director of recruiting this offseason. Siale got to know Griffin during their time together at the Ford Sports Performance group, where several of the top Seattle-area prospects train.

Michigan State defensive line coach Legi Suiaunoa did a strong job in outlasting the Huskies. He secured a commitment from Siale through his long-standing relationship with the defensive lineman and his family. Suiaunoa visited Siale and his family at their church in May.

Siale held additional offers Oregon, Louisville, Florida State and California, among others. He is the No. 640 recruit, No. 55 edge and No. 2 player from Washington in the 2026 class, per the On3 Industry Rankings.

Michigan State now holds three defensive line commitments in its 2026 class. Siale joins Memphis (Tenn.) Whitehaven rush end Cory House and Frisco (Texas) Lone Star defensive tackle Christopher Knauls.

Michigan State holds additional defensive commitments from Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edwards safety Brayden Thomas, Middletown (OH) High School safety Jordan Vann, Englewood (Colo.) Cherry Creek linebacker Braylon Hodge, Fayetteville (Ga.) Whitewater cornerback Kelsey Deriso and Jacksonville (Fla.) Impact Christian safety Eliyjah Caldwell-Hardy.

The Spartans also hold commitments from East Kentwood (Mich.) quarterback Kayd Coffman, Sioux Falls (S.D.) Jefferson tight end Eddie Whiting, Mansfield (Ohio) Lexington tight end Joey Caudill, Bakersfield (Calif.) offensive lineman Quinn Buckey, Gilbert (Ariz.) Williams Field offensive lineman Collin Campbell and North Branch (Mich.) offensive lineman Eli Bickel on the offensive side of the ball.
