EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State listed the following players as “out” for Saturday’s game against Penn State: wide receiver Alante Brown, safety Nikai Martinez, quarterback Aidan Chiles, cornerback Chance Rucker, defensive tackle Ben Roberts, tackle Stanton Ramil, defensive tackle Ru’Quan Buckley, tight end Jayden Savoury, tight end Brennan Parachek, kicker Tarik Ahmetbasic, long snapper Kaden Schickel, linebacker Marcellius Pulliam, guard Kristian Phillips, defensive back Ade Willie.

The following players will miss the remainder of the year due to injury: rush end Anelu Lafaele, linebacker Brady Pretzlaff, offensive guard Luka Vincic, tackle Ashton Lepo, cornerback Andrew Brinson and defensive back Caleb Gash

Michigan State listed zero players as “questionable.”

Chiles, Martinez and Rucker are new additions to this week’s list. Michigan State benched Chiles in favor of Alessio Milivojevic at Minnesota last week. Milivojevic will start again with Chiles unavailable. True freshman Leo Hannan projects as the back-up behind Milivojevic.

Michigan State will count on Armorion Smith and Devynn Cromwell, among others, to fill in for Martinez opposite Malik Spencer in its defensive backfield. Josh Eaton, Malcolm Bell and Aydan West will continue to receive a bulk of the snaps at cornerback with Rucker out.

Michigan State removed running back Makhi Frazier, receiver Chrishon McCray and defensive tackle Ru’Quan Buckley from the availability report, meaning they will presumably play against Penn State after missing last week’s game.

With Buckley returning, the Spartan regain some depth at defensive tackle. Buckley, Alex VanSumeren, Grady Kelly and Jalen Satchell figure to hold down the position with Roberts unavailable.

Ramil will miss his fifth game in seven weeks after sustaining an injury in the first half against Michigan. Conner Moore and Rustin Young are candidates to feature at tackle with Ramil and Lepo unavailable.
