Michigan State received a surprise commitment and signature from 2026 three-star offensive lineman Jack Ziarko on Wednesday. The official Spartan social media page announced his signing.

Ziarko (6-4, 280) had been committed to Miami (Ohio) since early April. Michigan State extended an offer last Thursday, and Ziarko quietly scheduled an official visit to East Lansing for the following Saturday, which helped sealed the deal.

Ziarko’s visit was interrupted by the firing of Jonathan Smith, but he continued to consider Michigan State upon its hiring of Pat Fitzgerald. Spartan general manager Cole Moore played a big role behind the scenes to manage the transition.

“The part that really sold me on Michigan State is probably the campus, and the hiring of Coach Fitzgerald,” Ziarko told SpartanMag. “I really like him, and I’m extremely excited to be coached by him.”

Ziarko is the No. 860 recruit in the 2026 class, per the Rivals Industry Rankings. He’s also the No. 80 interior offensive lineman and No. 41 player from Ohio in his class.

SCOUTING REPORT

Ziarko has a strong frame, and likely projects on the interior of the offensive line at Michigan State. He used his strong lower body and strong hands on the offensive and defensive lines for Hoover High School this fall. Ziarko earned First Team All-Federal League honors in 2025. He also plays baseball for Hoover High School.
