Michigan State to host North Carolina RB next weekend (June 20)

Michigan State will welcome class of 2026 running back Jamal Rule, of Charlotte (N.C.) Christian High School, for an official visit the weekend of June 20, he told SpartanMag. It will mark his first visit to East Lansing after receiving an offer from Spartan running backs coach Keith Bhonpaha on Monday.
Rule (6-0, 205) has taken official visits to Syracuse (May 30) and Virginia Tech (June 6) this summer. He will head to Nebraska this weekend (June 13). Rule also received offers from Wisconsin, Miami (FL), NC State, Arkansas and Pittsburgh, among others, this spring.
The Spartans jumped into the mix later on after multiple running back targets cancelled their official visits to East Lansing. With Rule now on Michigan State’s board, the Spartans will look to make a strong impression next weekend.
Rule is expected to make a final decision after his official visit slate wraps up. Bhonapha’s ability to quickly schedule an official visit with Rule serves as a strong first step for Michigan State.

“I got a chance to speak with a few of their coaches, and they just seem real genuine,” Rule told SpartanMag when asked why he chose to schedule the visit. “I could tell they took the time to learn about me and my family, so I’m open to listening to what they can offer.”
According to MaxPreps, Rule rushed for 1,236 yards and 15 touchdown on 134 carries last fall. He also logged 121 yards and one touchdown in the passing game.
Michigan State is set to host a handful of intriguing visitors this weekend, including a pair of long-time Spartan commitments in tight end Joey Caudill and offensive lineman Eli Bickel. The Spartans currently hold 11 commitments, with two more busy official visit weekends left on the docket.
