DetroitMichigan State released its week 13 availability report Friday evening ahead of kickoff against Penn State at 7:30 p.m. The Spartans will gain some much-needed depth at defensive tackle with Maverick Hansen returning to the field. Hansen missed last week’s victory over Indiana with an undisclosed injury.

While not listed on this week’s availability report, veteran center Nick Samac will miss Friday’s game after suffering a season-ending lower body injury against Indiana. Michigan State will get starting right guard Geno VanDeMark back for its season finale. VanDeMark—who was out last week—has rotated in the lineup with Kevin Wigenton.

Starting cornerback Dillon Tatum will miss Friday’s game against Penn State. Michigan State has used a three-man rotation at cornerback during Tatum’s absence the previous two games. Chester Kimbrough has seen the most snaps, while Chance Rucker and Ade Willie have also seen substantial playing time.

Freshman tight end Brennan Parachek did not show up on the availability report after being listed as questionable last Saturday. Parachek did not see the field in the win over Indiana.

Defensive end Brandon Wright will miss Friday’s game after suffering an injury against the Hoosiers.

Michigan State listed 13 players as out: cornerback Charles Brantley, cornerback Semar Melvin, quarterback Noah Kim, defensive tackle Jarrett Jackson, wide receiver Jaron Glover, wide receiver Tre Mosley, cornerback Dillon Tatum, defensive end Bai Jobe, linebacker Darius Snow, defensive end Brandon Wright, cornerback Marqui Lowery, defensive back Brandon Lewis and defensive tackle Dre Butler.

Noah Kim is listed as out for the fifth straight week. Michigan State will rely on Katin Houser and walk-on Andrew Schorfhaar at quarterback. Freshman Sam Leavitt plans to use his redshirt and will sit out Friday’s game.

Linebacker Jacoby Windmon, running back Jalen Berger, running back Joseph Martinez, linebacker Ma’a Gaoteote, safety Armorion Smith, offensive guard Gavin Broscious, tight end Tyneil Hopper, offensive tackle Stanton Ramil and defensive tackle Alex VanSumeren remain out for the season.
