Michigan flip target makes massive leap into updated Rivals300

Michigan’s 2026 class is nearly complete, but the Wolverines are still looking to add a cornerback, an offensive lineman and at least one more linebacker to its current tenth-ranked group. Rivals released a new batch of rankings Monday that featured a few targets.
The Wolverines hold a pair of Top 10, five-star commits in Carter Meadows and Savion Hiter, who both moved up in the latest update.
Davon Benjamin is the highest-ranked target left on the board. He sits at No. 22 in the new Rivals300 and retained his title as the No.1 cornerback in the country. Michigan is continuing to keep tabs on a few elite defensive backs pledged elsewhere. Benjamin remains solid with his summer commitment to Oregon, but the Wolverines are still building a connection with the No. 3 prospect in California.
Michigan has also been in contact with cornerback Lawrence Timmons, a Florida State legacy commit who used to be a big fan of U-M. He’s a Rivals outlier recruit and made another jump in these rankings from No. 39 to No. 28.
“Hyper-instinctual defensive back with playmaking ability, physicality, and athleticism that make him one of the top pure football players in the 2026 cycle,” Rivals director of scouting and rankings Charles Power previously wrote in Timmons’ scouting report.
Fellow elite cornerback flip target Khary Adams’ ranking held steady at No. 34. LSU cornerback commit Havon Finney Jr. dropped slightly in the latest update from No. 96 to No. 121.

Braylon Hodge picked up offers from Michigan and Texas last week after the Michigan State linebacker commit started his senior season strong. Rivals bumped him way up from his three-star ranking to the No. 170 spot in the Rivals300. He’s now the No. 9 linebacker in the nation and the No. 1 recruit in Colorado. Hodge is interested in the Wolverines and plans on visiting for a game day this fall.
“Michigan, obviously, is a huge name for college football,” Hodge told The Wolverine. “They’ve always been a powerhouse. They’re a top team every year, so just getting the opportunity to play there and be coached by some of the great coaches there is just a blessing.”
Georgia linebacker commit Nick Abrams made a modest jump in the rankings from No. 247 to No. 232 this week. Michigan is still recruiting a few linebackers, and he could be a flip target to know down the line.
The Wolverines are also still in contact with James Dunnigan Jr., a Rivals300 safety who climbed one spot to No. 296 Monday.
