A crazy month of January is in the books, a topic the hosts began the podcast with. Michigan won the Rose Bowl over Alabama and national championship game over Washington. Less than three weeks later, head coach Jim Harbaugh departed for the Los Angeles Chargers. Forty eight hours after that, Sherrone Moore was promoted to head coach. Now, he’s efforting on his staff.
“Not to pile on the basketball program — I’m sure we’ll talk about them in a minute — but Michigan football more wins in January, with two, than Michigan basketball had,” Broome said. “That’s an alarming stat on a number of fronts, both good and bad.

“But, yeah, we survived the month of January. But now the month of February is huge. Sherrone Moore still working to fill out his staff. You’ve got, I assume, maybe at the end of this month, spring ball starts — maybe early march. We’ll be at the NFL Combine that first week of March, I believe it is.
“Everyone always asks, when football season is over, what do you guys have to work on? It just never stops, there’s always something. It’s just something different.
“Today, February 1st as we sit here and record, the Rose Bowl was one month ago. It feels like it was last week but also 10 years ago at the same time.”
“It was a great month overall but a whirlwind.”
The Michigan podcast hosts went on to discuss the coaches who seemed locked into staying in Ann Arbor with Moore, a couple who appear to be on the fence and others who are likely out the door to Los Angeles with Harbaugh. They go on to break down the Wolverine basketball team’s loss to MSU and look ahead to a winnable game against Rutgers Saturday.
