Another piece of Michigan basketball’s 2022-23 schedule has been revealed. The Wolverines will host Virginia on Nov. 29 in the 2022 ACC/Big Ten Challenge between the two storied conferences, according to multiple media reports.

The two programs have met only once in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, a 70-58 Virginia win in Charlottesville during the 2011 season. The two teams are deadlocked at 2-2 in the all-time series. The showdown pits two teams together who have had plenty of recent success. Michigan is coming off its fifth-straight appearance in the Sweet 16, while the Cavaliers won a national championship during the 2019 season.

Michigan’s non-conference schedule is still a work in progress. The Wolverines will play in the Legends Classic on Nov. 16-17 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Arizona State, Pittsburgh and VCU are the other teams involved. Other headline events will be the team’s Dec. 4 contest against Kentucky in London, England and the Dec. 21 Jumpman Invitational against North Carolina.

Michigan is coming off a 19-15 season in 2021-22 that was capped off by the program’s fifth-straight trip to the Sweet 16. This was short of expectations coming into the year. However, with many familiar faces returning the hope is the Wolverines will regain their championship pedigree in 2022-23.
