The Michigan Wolverines are gearing up for the summer and the leadup to fall camp, and now fans have a clearer idea of when a few of the games might kick off this season. A pair of times were made official on Monday.

In Week 1, Michigan will kick off its campaign against Fresno State, slated for a prime-time showdown at 7:30 p.m. on NBC on Aug. 31. The Wolverines aim to make a statement early in the season under the bright lights in the first game under head coach Sherrone Moore, setting the stage for the next era of the program fot the defending national champs.

The regular season reaches its peak in the perennial rivalry matchup between Michigan and Ohio State on Nov 30. The highly anticipated showdown is scheduled for noon on FOX, which was assumed but also made official on Monday afternoon.

As was made official during the spring game, Michigan’s clash against Texas will take place at noon on FOX in Week 2 on Sept. 7. This contest features a pair of College Football Playoff teams from 2023 and a pair of hopefuls to get back there this season. Both teams will seek to secure a crucial victory and gain momentum early in the season as they build out a resume for the 12-team field.

Michigan quote of the day

“I’ll say yes. They probably will not win the Big Ten and get a first-round bye. But I think Michigan, as we sit here on May 13th, will get into the college football playoff. I think the really tough schedule hurts them in a way. It also helps them in another way where you could lose three games and still maybe back in and get into the playoff at the back end of that top 12. It’s going to be hard. I know [On3’s Andy Staples] has about 15-20 teams that could make that playoff and compete to advance in the playoff. I think Michigan is certainly one of those teams. The schedule will give them the opportunity to notch the wins that they need to get in.”
