Wolverine TV: Camp clips of Michigan EDGE commit Tariq Boney

The Wolverine’s EJ Holland recently saw Michigan commit and three-star Washington (D.C.) St. John’s EDGE Tariq Boney at the Under Armour camp in Baltimore.

Boney Recruitment
Michigan extended an offer to Boney in late January and immediately became a major player in his recruitment.
The Wolverines hosted Boney for his first visit in the spring. It was there where Michigan took command of his recruitment.
Boney had official visits scheduled with Cincinnati, Tulane and West Virginia. However, he opted to commit to Michigan early instead.
Here is what Holland had to say about Boney.
“Michigan valued Boney much more than the ranking,” Holland said. “Boney is ranked as a three-star by three services. He’s very undersized for the position, which doesn’t equate to a high hit rate. Michigan will hope Boney can be an anomaly — similar to Josaiah Stewart. While Boney is short, he does play with speed off the edge and has high level technique. He’s also very productive at St. John’s, one of the best programs in the DMV. He plays against quality competition in his league. He also performed really well at the Under Armour camp.”
