Dante Daniels committed to NC State Sunday afternoon. The El Dorado (KS) Butler Community College tight end announced his is joining the Wolfpack while on an official visit.

He is the program’s first junior college commit of the 2024 cycle and the No. 22 commit of the 2024 class. Daniels, who is from Ontario, Canada, spent three seasons at Butler before picking up a wave of Division-I offers this fall, picking the Wolfpack over Texas State, Toledo, Buffalo and others.

Earlier this fall, the 6-6, 265-pound tight end told TheWolfpacker.com he wanted to visit Raleigh, a city he thought highly of coming into the trip, to see if it fit what he and his girlfriend are looking for from his final two seasons of college eligibility.

Daniels found his next collegiate home during his Dec. 8-10 official visit, committing to NC State’s staff before he left campus. NC State offered him a scholarship Oct. 26 after the staff watched him play in person.

During his redshirt sophomore season, he caught 9 passes for 133 yards and 1 touchdown, averaging 14.8 yards per reception. Butler finished the season 5-5, and he recorded 3 catches for 56 yards in his final game of the season.

NC State director of recruiting Jatavis Sanders and assistant director of player personnel Quint Cottingham were the two coaches in most frequent contact with the tight end, he said earlier this fall.

“They like how I’m very physical at the point of attack…They really like how I put my hand in the dirt and just move the d-end out of the way for our running back and [get] out in the pass game and make the catches” Daniels said.

NC State’s offense under coordinator Robert Anae piqued Daniels’s interest in the Pack. He especially enjoyed watching how the Wolfpack uses its tight ends as the lead blocker for the running back at times.

“I really enjoy watching that,” Daniels said.

The Wolfpack tight end commit is a December graduate and will enroll in January. He is also NC State’s first tight end commit of the 2024 cycle.
