Injury update: NC State WR Noah Rogers ‘cleared’ after hard hit vs. ECU

NC State redshirt sophomore wide receiver Noah Rogers will not miss any time after leaving the Wolfpack’s 24-17 win over East Carolina early due to a possible injury Thursday night, coach Dave Doeren said Monday evening.
“Noah’s good,” Doeren said in his weekly press conference to begin the week. “He’s totally cleared and [I’m] looking forward to having him back.”
Rogers, one of NC State’s top wide receivers, exited the game following what appeared to be a knee to the head as he was tackled after a 10-yard reception on the first offensive play of the fourth quarter. He was slow to get up, but walked off under his own power without his helmet on.
The Rolesville, N.C., native was taken to the Pack’s locker room after the play and did not return to the field. He logged two catches for 19 yards as the team’s starting Z receiver against the Pirates before his night was cut short.
Rogers, a former Ohio State transfer, is in search of a breakout campaign this fall. He recorded 35 receptions for 478 yards and a touchdown in his first campaign at NC State last fall, which was headlined by his game-saving catch through two defenders to set up a game-winning touchdown at North Carolina last November.

While he used this summer to attack each day with a motivated mindset, Rogers didn’t put any pressure on himself when it came to his second season in Raleigh. Instead, he was focused on improving every day.
“It’s just getting better day by day,” Rogers said in the middle of fall camp. “I’m just worried about what can Noah do today for this team to get better at his game, so when the time comes, I’m performing well. It’s just living in the moment, not looking ahead, keeping my head level and not getting complacent.”
Now that Rogers knows he avoided any serious injury from the season-opening hit, he’s looking to take a step forward as the team welcomes Virginia to town for a non-conference tilt on Saturday afternoon.
