NC State football recruiting commits in action — Week 12

Here is a recap of how the NC State football recruiting commitments performed this past week. All games were played last Friday unless otherwise noted.

On3 Consensus four-star running back Michael Allen from Greenville (N.C.) J.H. Rose High

Last Game: In a 45-24 win over visiting Newport (N.C.) Croatan High during the first round of the 3-A state playoffs, Allen ran five times for 132 yards and two touchdowns and caught a 54-yard score.

Season Stats: Through 11 games, Allen had 94 carries for 720 yards and 10 scores, and 26 catches for 502 yards and seven touchdowns.

Team Record: 7-4.

On3 Consensus three-star defensive lineman Nick Campbell from Lake Minneola (Fla.) High

Last Game: Campbell and Lake Minneola rolled to a 40-0 win over visiting Leesburg (Fla.) High. Campbell had nine tackles, including three solo, three for loss and a pair of sacks. He also forced a fumble.

Season Stats: In 10 games, Campbell has 47 tackles (13 solo), including 12 for loss and five sacks, and has forced a pair of fumbles.

Team Record: 6-4.

On3 Consensus four-star defensive lineman Brandon Cleveland from Tampa (Fla.) Carrollwood Day

Last Game: Carrollwood Day did not play last week

Season stats: In nine games, Cleveland had 50 tackles (31 solo), including 26 for loss and eight sacks. He’s added five quarterback hurries, an interception and two pass breakups.

Team Record: 7-2 and the No. 12 team in Florida Division 3A.

On3 Consensus three-star defensive back Isaiah Crowell from Kernersville (N.C.) East Forsyth High

Last Game: In a 49-0 home win over Greensboro (N.C.) Southeast Guilford High in the first round of the 4-A state playoffs, Crowell had eight tackles (one solo), including one for a loss and a sack, plus a quarterback hurry.

Season Stats: Crowell has 80 tackles (33 solo), including 11 for a loss and three sacks, plus an interception, four pass breakups, a QB hurry and two blocked kicks in 10 games games.

Team Record: 9-1 and ranked No. 3 in the state by MaxPreps.com.

On3 Consensus three-star running back Bennett Galloway from Chapin (S.C.) High

Last Game: Galloway ran for three touchdowns and 180 yards while also catching a 65-yard scoring pass in a 50-14 road win over Myrtle Beach (S.C.) Carolina Forest High during the first round of the AAAAA state playoffs.

Season Stats: Galloway has rushed for 16 touchdowns, caught six scores and returned a kickoff for a TD and has 1,094 yards rushing for the year.

Team Record: 8-3 and ranked No. 12 in the state’s Division AAAAA by MaxPreps.com.

On3 Consensus three-star defensive lineman D.J. Jackson from Sumter (S.C.) High

Last Game: Sumter won 28-8 at home over Lexington (S.C.) White Knoll High in the first round of the AAAAA playoffs. Jackson will not play this season after having surgery in August to repair a torn ACL.

Team Record: 9-1 and ranked No. 13 in Division AAAAA.

On3 Consensus three-star quarterback MJ Morris from Carrollton (Ga.) High

Last Game: Morris completed 23 of 36 passes for 327 yards and two touchdowns with four interceptions, and ran 14 times for 61 yards and a pair of scores during a 35-31 home win at Douglasville (Ga.) Douglas County High.

Season stats: In 10 games, Morris has completed 143 of 222 passes (64.4 percent) for 2,458 yards and 28 touchdowns with eight picks, and rushed 65 times for 283 yards and five scores.

Morris is 13th in the state of Georgia in passing yards and ninth in scoring tosses.

Team Record: 9-1 and ranked No. 4 in the state at the Class AAAAAA level.

Class of 2023 quarterback Lex Thomas from Wake Forest (N.C.) Heritage High

Last Game: Thomas completed 12 of 23 passes for 255 yards and three touchdowns in a 34-12 home win over Clayton (N.C.) High in the first round of the 4-A state playoffs.

Season Stats: In 11 games, Thomas is 167-of-263 passing (63.5 percent) for 2,492 yards and 30 touchdowns with seven interceptions, and he has also rushed for a pair of scores.

Thomas is tied for ninth in the state in touchdown passes and is 11th in passing yards.

Team Record: 10-1.

On3 Consensus three-star linebacker Daejuan Thompson from Whiteville (N.C.) High

Last Game: Whiteville rolled again with a 56-0 win at Camden (N.C.) County High in the first round of the 2-A state playoffs. Thompson had a tackle for a loss and caught a 29-yard touchdown for his first scoring reception of the year.

Thompson and his teammates have won their last six games by a combined score of 372-26.

Team Record: 10-0.

On3 Consensus three-star receiver Terrell Timmons Jr. from Greensboro (N.C.) Northern Guilford High

Last Game: Timmons has six catches for 61 yards before being injured in a 28-21 home loss to Mooresville (N.C.) Lake Norman High in the first round of the 4-A state playoffs. He had also returned a pair of kickoffs for 39 yards.

Season Stats: In 10 games, Timmons caught 38 passes for 549 yards and 11 touchdowns, and returned 28 punts for an average of 10.5 yards and two scores. He also returned five kickoffs for a an average of 25.2 yards.

Team Record: 9-2.

On3 Consensus three-star center Rylan Vann from Cary (N.C.) High

Last Game: Cary (N.C.) High’s season had previously ended.

Season Stats: Vann had 36 tackles (14 solo), including seven for loss and 1.5 sacks, and has forced a fumble and recovered one.

Team Record: 3-7.

On3 Consensus three-star corner Jackson Vick from Bailey (N.C.) Southern Nash

Last Game: Southern Nash defeated visiting Jacksonville (N.C.) White Oak High, 49-9, in the first round of the 3-A state playoffs. Vick ran 12 times for 142 yards and two touchdowns and caught three passes for 57 yards and a score.

Season Stats: In 10 games, Vick rushed 138 times for 1,211 yards and 16 touchdowns, and caught eight passes for 200 yards and four scores. He also had a 91-yard kickoff return for a score, and on defense he had 13 tackles (five solo and one for a loss) and a pick.

Team Record: 9-1.

On3 Consensus four-star linebacker Torren Wright from Kannapolis (N.C.) A.L. Brown High

Last Game: A.L. Brown’s season had previously ended.

Season Stats: In 10 games, Wright had 116 tackles, including 71 solo, 13 for loss and four sacks. He also had seven QB hurries, three interceptions and six pass breakups.

Team Record: 5-5.
