NC State men’s basketball is already putting together an impressive 2024 recruiting class after securing a commitment top-50 prospect Paul McNeil earlier this year. Another priority junior, four-star forward Jahki Howard, will commit soon.

Howard set his decision date for July 29, per On3’s Joe Tipton. According to the On3 visit center, the 6-6 forward has only taking one trip this year— a Feb. 19 trip to NC State. He was in Raleigh to see the Wolfpack’s exciting win over North Carolina alongside McNeil, who also stopped by campus that day shortly before committing.

Going into the summer, Howard’s June 20 official visit with UConn is his lone scheduled trip of the summer. Tipton also reported that the four-star prospect hopes to add more visits to his schedule before making a decision.

In a previous interview with On3, the Overtime Elite star shared that his collegiate choice will come down to where he feels the most comfortable.

“It’s really about family to me,” Howard said. “I just want to go to the place that is going to be like home to me. How they play will matter, but the coaching staff and how they approach me and get to know me is the most important.”

The On3 Industry Ranking considers Howard the No. 77 recruit in the nation, the No. 22 small forward and the No. 7 recruit in Georgia. UConn leads his Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) at 49.5 percent.

NC State quote of the day

This quote is from Jackson. He shared what will help a school stand out from his top schools list.

“All of the schools that’ll be in my top list, they check off what I’m looking for in the school, so it’s really just what feels best for me at the end of the day, best for me and my family and what’s best for my growth and success,” Jackson said.
