After a stellar debut season at NC State, right-handed pitcher Anderson Nance was named a National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Freshman All-American second team honoree.

Nance, who was one of just 34 players in the nation to earn the award, is the first NC State player to make the storied list since Dominic Fritton and Cannon Peebles did it in 2023. The Pack has put a player on the NCBWA Freshman All-America list in three of the last four seasons.

An Eden, N.C., native, Nance paced NC State’s bullpen with 54 innings of work. He posted eight wins, which tied for the team most, with a save and a 3.50 ERA after he logged 53 strikeouts and limited opposing batters to a .256 average.

Nance was already named to the ACC’s All-Freshman squad this month. As he cruised through his first season in Raleigh, Nance went at least five innings four times, while he posted a campaign-best eight strikeouts against Davidson in March.
