Jimmar Boston emerged as a Power Five prospect this summer, picking up offers from Virginia Tech and NC State. Over the past few months, the three-star receiver continued to narrow down his recruitment and will now make his commitment decision on his birthday, Sept. 5, at 7 p.m. EST.

The Anderson (SC) Westside High star visited the Wolfpack for the first time July 28, during the Alpha Wolf Showcase. NC State made his final two alongside Virginia Tech. Boston also holds offers from Old Dominion, Marshall and a host of other Group of Five programs.

Wolfpack wide receivers coach Joker Phillips is his primary recruiter. The NC State assistant built and maintained a solid bond with the receiver ever since he began recruiting Boston in the spring.

“He’s fun to be around, and I feel like he knows what he is talking about,” Boston said. “He has been doing it for 35 years, so I trust him.”

The receiver originally planned on camping with the Pack in June but could not make the trip. He then traveled to Raleigh for Alpha Wolf and earned an offer on that visit. Boston shared what he is looking for in his future collegiate home.

“The main thing is seeing if I have a good relationship with the coaches and if I want to go to the school if I can’t play football, so the location as well, I guess, is a factor” Boston said.

The On3 Industry Ranking considers Boston the No. 573 recruit in the country, the No. 94 wide receiver and the No. 9 recruit in South Carolina. NC State leads his Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) at 98.4 percent.
