NC State gymnastics, in the program’s second year of ACC competition and first since 1984, took home the 2024 regular season conference title over the weekend. The Wolfpack defeated Clemson 197.575-196.000 to wrap up the league championship Saturday.

This win was also the second-highest scoring performance in program history, per NC State athletics. Graduate student Emily Shepard continued to establish herself as a Wolfpack legend, setting a new school record with a 39.750 all-around score.

She is the first Wolfpack gymnast to score 9.9 or better in every event in one meet, according to NC State.

The program set season highs vault (49.250), beam (49.375) and bars (49.450). Shepard posted a 9.900 or better score in every event against the Tigers.

Freshman Katie Harper recorded the first 9.900 of her career on bars over the weekend, and sophomore Kailee Adomaites finished with a career-best 9.875 in the same event.

NC State finished floor with three scores of 9.9 or above, which included freshman Ashley Knight reaching that mark for the first time in her career.

Now standing 5-4 on the season, the Wolfpack travels to Pittsburgh Sunday, Feb. 25, for a 4 p.m. showdown against another ACC opponent. NC State defeated the Panthers 196.500-194.100 earlier this year.

The Wolfpack improved to 5-0 in the conference after claiming the victory over Clemson. After wrapping up its ACC schedule with a clash against Pittsburgh, the program will compete in four quad meets before the league championship, scheduled for March 23 in Greensboro, North Carolina.

This is the conference’s second year sponsoring gymnastics and the first since 1984. NC State won the league in both seasons.
