The team features three returning players — including Seth Trimble, who enters his fourth year with the Tar Heels — three freshmen, six transfers, an overseas pro (Luka Bogavac) and three former walk-ons.

The program’s roster release came a day after the final two members of the roster arrived on campus – Bogavac and High Point transfer seven-footer Ivan Matlekovic.

Davis put out a brief statement along with the team’s announcement, giving credit to Trimble for returning for his fourth season at UNC. Trimble was a member of Davis’ first recruiting class at North Carolina.

“I am very excited about this upcoming season and this year’s team, led by Seth Trimble,” Davis said in the statement. “In college basketball’s current state, Carolina has been fortunate to have multiple accomplished veteran players choose to stay at UNC. Players like Leaky Black, Armando Bacot, RJ Davis, and now Seth Trimble are difference makers for us.

“Going into the summer, we wanted to get bigger and more versatile to give us the ability to be better on both ends of the floor, and I believe we’ve done that.”

The Carolina team will begin preseason practice next month, and its first game action will be an exhibition vs. BYU in Salt Lake City, Utah on Oct. 24.

UNC opens the regular season at home against Central Arkansas on Nov. 3 at home. The team will then complete its home-and-home agreement with Kansas on Nov. 7 when the Jayhawks come to town for a high profile early-season matchup.
