UNC Basketball To Host Blue-White Scrimmage In Chapel Hill on Oct. 4

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — North Carolina basketball will play its annual Blue-White scrimmage at the Smith Center on Oct. 4, playing the game about 60 minutes after the football team’s home game against Clemson, the school announced Monday. The football game is scheduled to kick off at noon.

General admission to the game will be free. Befitting the NIL era, the school is selling reserved seats and admission to a one-item autograph session for $150.
Last season, North Carolina played its Blue-White scrimmage game the same weekend it faced Georgia Tech in football. UNC had to reschedule the event from its original date, as the team planned to play at Harrah’s Resort in Cherokee until the area was impacted by damages from Hurricane Helene.
The scrimmage will showcase the slew of new faces North Carolina has on its roster this season, with the combined 10 new scholarship players comprised of transfers, freshmen and an overseas addition.
Hubert Davis and his staff brought in West Virginia wing Jonathan Powell, Arizona center Henri Veesaar, Colorado State guard Kyan Evans, Alabama forward Jarin Stevenson, Virginia Tech guard Jaydon Young and High Point center Ivan Matlekovic through the transfer portal.
The highly touted Caleb Wilson along with guards Derek Dixon and Isaiah Denis are the team’s freshmen. Luka Bogavac, who the team signed out of Montenegro, will play his first season of college basketball.
