UNC Game Week Player Interviews: Khmori House & Caleb Hood

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — In case Monday night wasn’t enough of an indicator, it’s back to the drawing board this week for North Carolina ahead of its week two matchup with the Charlotte 49ers. Sophomore linebacker Khmori House and redshirt-senior running back Caleb Hood spoke to the media ahead of the team’s Wednesday afternoon practice. Watch those complete interviews below and read some noteworthy excerpts …

“I just feel like we gotta execute the job better. We just didn’t execute the way we were supposed to. So, we just gotta fix it up in the meetings today, tomorrow, going forward and focus on Charlotte for sure…
“Man, we just move forward. I mean of course, we’re not gonna just move past it. We obviously gotta correct things. But we gotta move forward and we gotta make sure we win this week and take a step forward…
“I think when we were doing good, we were looking very good. When we had our lows, we were low. So if we pick up, I mean there’s obviously things to work on. But if we pick up from the good things and correct the things we gotta work on, we could be a really good team. We’re just trying to stack days, like I said earlier. We gotta just keep stacking our days. We’re gonna get better for sure, that’s no question, that’s a no-brainer. We’re gonna get better and we just gotta be better.”

“Just positivity. It’s the beginning of the season. A lot of things still happening, so just being positive and regrouping and restarting this week. So you gotta practice today and get after it this week. And just turn the page, refocus and attack next week…
“I think we all got to improve, honestly, just me, start with me and everybody else. We just want to improve from week to week and from game to game. And that’s just the biggest thing. You never want to just look back and be like, ‘oh we did this wrong, oh we did that wrong.’ Everybody makes mistakes. Everyone’s gonna make mistakes. Just got to correct those, control what we can control. And that’s doing our own job. So I just got to correct what I can correct. Fix what I can fix. And same with them, they know that….
“Conner (Harrell)’s a great guy. Played golf with him a lot in the offseason last year. We got a great connection, but this week we’re on the opposite side.”
