CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — North Carolina tackle Trevyon Green is no longer with the team, multiple sources told Inside Carolina.

Green is now the second player to leave Bill Belichick’s Tar Heels mid-season, with Aziah Johnson departing last week three games into the season.

Green, listed at 6-foot-8, 340 pounds, started at right tackle in all 13 games last season, but he has been a backup this year, playing 16 offensive snaps in two games against Charlotte and Richmond. According to Pro Football Focus, Green played two special teams snaps against TCU. He was not in uniform on Saturday against UCF.

Coming out of Colonial Heights (Va.) Life Christian Academy, Green joined North Carolina in the 2022 season under Mack Brown. Brown’s staff asked Green to shed weight before coming in. Last spring, entering the 2024 season, Green told the media he got up to 410 pounds in high school before cutting down. He said he lost about 40 pounds then and lost more in college.

Green remained with the team after Brown’s departure and spent spring practice and training camp with Belichick’s staff.

North Carolina got Austin Blaske back on its offensive line Saturday after the veteran missed the first three games of the season. Christo Kelly remained out on against UCF after missing the previous two games, and William Boone, who played in the first three games, didn’t suit up either.
