It felt like Notre Dame women’s basketball had outgrown “rebuild mode” — maybe forever. And perhaps coach Niele Ivey’s fifth team since taking the reins from Hall-of-Famer Muffet McGraw won’t fit that profile either in the upcoming season. And maybe, with just three scholarship returning players from last year’s late-fading 28-6 squad, it’ll at least flirt with it.
