Four-star Notre Dame TE target Evan Jacobson adjusts official visit schedule

Waukee (Iowa) High’s Evan Jacobson, the nation’s No. 226 overall player and No. 12 tight end according to the 2026 On3 Industry Ranking, has already taken three official visits and planned to take three more. But his schedule has changed.
The four-star prospect was going to see Auburn this weekend and Florida State for a midweek trip on June 16 but will no longer be taking those visits. Instead, he’ll officially visit Notre Dame this weekend followed by a midweek OV to Iowa State. His Fighting Irish official was previously scheduled for June 20.
Jacobson, who reportedly stands at an impressive 6-7, 210 pounds, officially visited Stanford in April, Missouri at the end of May and Texas A&M this weekend. He is looking to make a commitment in July.
Multiple On3 predictions have previously been logged for the talented prospect to end up at Notre Dame. His first trip to South Bend took place on April 4.
“It was an amazing visit,” he said. “It was extremely beneficial. I left with no questions unanswered and learned so much about everything Notre Dame has to offer.”
Jacobson’s glowing review of the Irish was mostly due to the people who made him and his family feel welcome from start to finish.
“I felt super comfortable with them,” he said. “They were super easy to talk to. I just enjoyed being around them. You could tell they wanted the football program and you to succeed as a person.”

Notre Dame has around 20 prospects coming to town this weekend, including several offensive commits who will be in Jacobson’s ear.
“But after this visit, I feel really good with Notre Dame and everybody on staff there,” continued Jacobson after his April trip. “Especially Coach [Mike] Denbrock, what he expressed to me when I was there. He made it very clear how they feel about me. I think our relationship is just continuing to get stronger.”
Jacobson is also an outstanding basketball player, earneing first-team all-state honors following a tremendous junior season.
On the gridiron, he was selected to the Iowa Football Coaches Association second-team all-state offense and first-team all-district offense in 2024. Jacobson has already been invited to play in the 2026 Navy All-American Bowl.
On3’s own rankings of Jacobson are a bit higher on him than the industry ranking mentioned in the first sentence of the article. He’s the No. 169 player and No. 11 tight end in the land per On3.
