Newsstand: Chicagoland QB Jameson Purcell returning to Notre Dame for Irish Invasion

One of the top quarterbacks from Chicagoland is set to compete in Notre Dame football’s Irish Invasion prospect camp June 6.
On Thursday, Park Ridge (Ill.) Maine South four-star recruit Jameson Purcell announced his plans to return to South Bend. The 6-foot-2, 193-pound passer will also camp at Clemson, Florida, Auburn, Florida State and Ohio State in June.
According to the On3 Industry Ranking — a proprietary algorithm compiling ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services — Purcell is the No. 293 overall player, No. 21 quarterback nationally and No. 9 prospect in Illinois for the 2027 class.
Purcell has reported offers from Nebraska, Wisconsin, Indiana, Ole Miss, Auburn, Louisville, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Miami, Washington, Syracuse and Florida. His upcoming Notre Dame visit will mark his third. The Irish have not yet offered a quarterback recruit for the 2027 class.
