Newsstand: Elite 2027 recruit includes Notre Dame football in top 12

Notre Dame is still in the mix for one of the top linebacker recruits in the 2027 class. On Thursday, Tampa (Fla.) Jesuit four-star prospect Kaden Henderson told Rivals he is down to 12 schools: Notre Dame, Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Miami, Ohio State, Oregon, Southern Cal, Tennessee and Texas A&M.
Rivals’ No. 21 overall player and No. 6 linebacker in the class holds scholarship offers from over 30 schools. Among the schools that did not make the cut for Rivals’ No. 5 player in the Sunshine State are Oklahoma, Penn State, North Carolina and Ole Miss.
The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Henderson announced his Notre Dame offer during the program’s St. Patrick’s Day-themed Pot of Gold Day recruiting event. The Irish caught his attention.
“It means a lot getting an offer from a prestigious school like Notre Dame,” Henderson told Rivals vice president of recruiting Steve Wiltfong in March. “And they’re definitely on the rise.”
