There has been a late addition to Notre Dame football’s Irish Invasion visitor list.

On Thursday, Mobile (Ala.) Williamson four-star linebacker Ellis McGaskin announced on social media that he will unofficially visit Notre Dame on Friday. The 5-foot-11½, 210-pound McGaskin did not specify whether he will participate in the program’s premier high school football prospect camp.

According to the On3 Industry Ranking, McGaskin is the No. 188 overall player, the No. 10 linebacker nationally and the No. 9 recruit in Alabama in the 2027 class. Notre Dame linebackers coach Max Bullough extended McGaskin a scholarship offer during the program’s St. Patrick’s Day-themed Pot of Gold recruiting event on March 17.

“It’s a huge opportunity,” McGaskin told On3 Vice President of Recruiting and Transfer Portal Steve Wiltfong after receiving the offer. “They are high on my board. Lovin’ what I am hearing from those guys.”

McGaskin holds offers from more than 20 Power Four programs, including Auburn, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Michigan, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas A&M.

As a sophomore, McGaskin delivered an impressive stat line, recording 130 tackles (64 solo), 21 tackles for loss, 4 sacks, 9 quarterback hurries, 4 pass breakups, 3 forced fumbles and 1 fumble recovery in nine games.

Friday will mark McGaskin’s first visit to Notre Dame.
