Newsstand: Rivals300 four-star safety Marquis Bryant includes Notre Dame in top six
The Fighting Irish are one of six schools still in contention for one of the top defensive back recruits in the 2027 cycle.
On Saturday, Rolesville (N.C.) High four-star safety Marquis Bryant released a top six of Notre Dame, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, North Carolina and Tennessee. According to the Rivals Industry Ranking, Bryant slots as the No. 170 overall player, No. 16 safety nationally and No. 7 player in North Carolina in the 2027 class.
Before narrowing his recruitment, the 185-pound Bryant reported scholarship offers from 25 other Power Four programs. Michigan, Penn State, Duke, NC State, Miami and Texas A&M were among the notable omissions.
Bryant is one of three recruits from Rolesville (N.C.) High that the Irish offered in the class. They are also sent scholarships to four-star running back Amir Brown and wide receiver Anthony Roberts, the Nos. 264 and 302 overall players in the country and Nos. 9 and 11 recruits in North Carolina, respectively. Bryant and Roberts are both slated to visit Notre Dame this season. Brown committed to the Tar Heels on Sunday.
