Newsstand: Bobby Taylor speaks to current Notre Dame football team

Former Notre Dame All-American Bobby Taylor came back to South Bend and gave a speech to the current team on Tuesday, the Irish posted on social media.
Taylor, who played cornerback for the Irish from 1992-94, spoke to the team about transitioning to the NFL. He currently serves as a football operations strategic advisor for the league.
Taylor totaled 5 interceptions over two seasons with the Irish, earning consensus All-American honors in 1994. He was drafted in the second round (No. 50 overall) by the Philadelphia Eagles, where he spent the first nine years of his career. He capped off his time in the NFL with a season with the Seattle Seahawks.
With the Eagles, Taylor finished third in Defensive Rookie of the Year voting in 1995 and was a Pro Bowler and second-team All-Pro in 2002. He finished his NFL career with 384 tackles and 19 interceptions.

Rookie of the year?
Quote of the day
“Pain. Devastation. When I think back to the season, it’s completely different. When I think back to that game, that night, painful. Disappointment. Underachieved. Those are the things I think about. I wish we could go back and do it one more time. We didn’t play our best when our best was needed, and the outcome is the outcome.
“That’s different than when I think about the entire season. I think about the journey. That’s a selfish answer, but that’s what I feel. Grateful for the seniors. Grateful for the guys that it was their last game. Appreciative of those guys and their sacrifice, but selfishly, that’s what I feel when I think about that game.”
