Newsstand: Notre Dame QB commit Teddy Jarrard to play in 2026 Under Armour All-America Game

More top high school recruits than ever are opting not to play in the top postseason All-American games (most notably the Under Armour All-America Game and the Navy All-American Bowl), so both all-star events have started inviting elite high school juniors to boost roster numbers.
On Thursday evening, Notre Dame class of 2027 quarterback commit Teddy Jarrard announced that he’ll be playing in the Under Armour Game. He’ll be one of the few high school juniors in the contest.
At least a couple of Irish commits in the 2026 class will also play in the all-star game in Orlando, Fla. Irish defensive back verbals Khary Adams and Joey O’Brien are those players. We believe offensive line pledge Ben Nichols will participate as well.
These postseason all-star games are not only a fun, competitive environment for top recruits, but they’re also an opportunity for talented evaluators from recruiting websites to get an in-person look at loads of top prospects.
According to the Rivals Industry Ranking — which equally weighs all three major media outlets — Jarrard is the No. 178 overall prospect and No. 16 quarterback in America in the 2027 class. Rivals’ own rankings have him as the No. 78 player and No. 5 signal-caller.
247Sports ranks Jarrard as a three-star player, while ESPN lists him as a four-star recruit, the No. 209 prospect and No. 15 quarterback nationally.
The Under Armour Game will be a great opportunity for Jarrard to showcase his talent on a national stage.

During his sophomore season in 2024, Jarrard threw for 2,783 yards and 34 touchdowns with a 72 percent completion percentage. He was named the Georgia High School Association Region 7-AA offensive player of the year and to the 2024 All-Cobb County first-team offense.
He had a strong freshman campaign as well, completing 153 of 260 passes for 2,065 yards with 18 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Recruit Georgia listed him as a 2023 Class 2A All-State honorable mention.
Notre Dame tweets of the day
Quote of the day
“Yeah, the Holy War. Coach [Al] Wash[ington] has really educated myself and the team on what the view was when he was at Boston College.
“The one thing that’s unique about this rivalry is it’s not played every year, and that’s probably why it’s not talked about enough. But there’s history, it’s a great opportunity and a great challenge.
“And so we’re embracing the Holy War, we’re embracing this rivalry. And as much as it is for us, the opportunity to achieve team glory together. And that’s represented by winning this game and the trophy. And so it’s definitely important to this football program and this university.”
