For Notre Dame who don’t follow Fighting Irish football recruiting, the dog days of summer continue. But for Notre Dame supporters who follow what Marcus Freeman has cooking in the 2026 class — especially those who do so by following along at Blue & Gold — it’s about to get exciting. And at times, potentially frustrating.

Gear up, Notre Dame fans.

The Irish enter June with 16 commitments in the 2026 class, a group that sits at No. 4 according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Ranking. Notre Dame doesn’t have any verbals in the 2027 cycle yet, but that very well could change this summer.

So, what does the month of June look like from a scheduling standpoint?

— It begins this weekend, as the Irish will have a few prospects on campus, as previously reported by Blue & Gold. Notre Dame quarterback commit Noah Grubbs is set to spend the next week on campus; he arrives Saturday. Key defensive line target Alister Vallejo gets to town May 31 as well, while wide receiver recruits Jayden Warren and Efrem White will be in South Bend Sunday. These 2026 prospects are coming to campus for unofficial visits.

The Irish have a couple midweek unofficial visitors coming up as well in a pair of 2026 tight end targets. Those players are Preston Fryzel and Brayden Fogle — both of whom are from Ohio.

An unofficial visit is when a prospective athlete visits a college campus at their own expense. An official visit is paid for by the school and lasts 48 hours.

— Next Friday is Notre Dame’s annual Irish Invasion camp. This has typically been on a Sunday in years past, but the staff switched things up a bit. Around 100 prospects — mostly from the 2027 and 2028 classes — are set to come to campus June 6 to compete in a camp hosted by the Irish staff. And a handful of them already hold Notre Dame scholarship offers.

Later in the day, Notre Dame will host its annual Grill and Chill. This is a recruiting event that the staff has held at the end of July in the past to host rising junior prospects, but the entire month of July is now a recruiting dead period (which essentially means no face-to-face contact is allowed between college coaches and high school recruits).

So, the staff moved it to the evening of the Irish Invasion date when a handful of underclassmen are already on campus. We estimate maybe a dozen or two prospects will participate in the Grill and Chill activities, which include a cookout and various games.

— The next weekend, Notre Dame has major official visitors due in. Around 20 players will be in South Bend the weekend of June 13 — about half of whom are already committed to the Fighting Irish. For the full visitor list for that weekend, click here. Notre Dame will also have a couple midweek visitors June 17, including elite tight end Ian Premer. We’re still working on confirming the final details. And the Irish are going to have a major official visit weekend on June 20 as well.

— June official visits lead to July commitments. A handful of top Irish targets are scheduled to commit in July, and the Irish are likely to land some of them. Blue & Gold’s Kyle Kelly outlined the latest here.

Make sure to lock in at Blue & Gold this summer for all the latest news and developments.
