Notre Dame football tracking in-state 2028 QB Oscar Sloan

While Notre Dame has yet to make major moves with quarterbacks in the 2027 class, Gino Guidugli and Co. are already showing interest in some of the top signal-callers in the 2028 cycle.
And a top rising sophomore quarterback hails from the Hoosier State. Greenwood (Ind.) Center Grove’s Oscar Sloan is on Notre Dame’s radar and visited South Bend April 2. The 6-2, 175-pounder spoke highly about his Fighting Irish visit with Blue & Gold.
“Overall, I really liked it,” Sloan said. “Even though I have lived in Indiana most of my life, it was the first time I have been on Notre Dame’s campus. The staff has me thinking a lot about life after football, and the tradition at Notre Dame is really something to take in.
“I liked the intensity of the practice and how engaged the coaches were with the players. The quarterback room is really strong at Notre Dame, and you could see how the competition was elevating the quarterback play.”
Sloan, who holds early offers from Purdue, Georgia State, Maryland, Miami (Ohio), Appalachian State and Toledo, enjoyed his experience meeting with the Fighting Irish coaching staff.
“I was able to spend some time with Coach [Marcus] Freeman, and he talked about how he is looking for not just good players but also good people. I think that is important for the culture.

“I also spent some time with Coach Gino; I told him what I am looking for at a school and he told me what he looks for in a quarterback. I also spent some time talking about offensive concepts, and what we do at Center Grove is similar to what they do at Notre Dame.”
Sloan plans to continue his recruiting process with the Fighting Irish in hopes of eventually earning an offer from Notre Dame.
“I plan on coming back to Notre Dame for a camp so we can continue to build a relationship, and they can see me throw in person,” Sloan said. “We also talked about going out next season, being productive and carrying on the winning tradition at Center Grove.”
Sloan spent his 8th grade year at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. before beginning his prep career at Center Grove. He started all junior varsity games as a freshman and played in a couple varsity games as well. Sloan projects as the varsity starter going into his sophomore campaign.
