2028 QB Treyvone Towns visits Notre Dame, eyes Fighting Irish offer

Notre Dame hosted a handful of 2026 commits, a couple dozen class of 2027 targets and many notable underclassmen for its home rivalry matchup against USC on Oct. 18.
One of the big-time class of 2028 recruits on campus for the contest was a player from the Trojans’ backyard. Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.) High’s Treyvone Towns, the No. 150 overall prospect and No. 13 quarterback in America according to the 2028 Rivals Industry Ranking, made the trek from the West Coast to the Midwest.
It was Towns’ second time visiting South Bend, as he also visited back in June for Irish Invasion and was one of the top signal-callers in attendance.
“My overall experience at Notre Dame was awesome,” Towns said. “I got a chance to hear some key note alumni speak as well as some academic support staff.”
“The highlight of the visit was the game, of course. I’ve never been in an environment such as Notre Dame and USC, and I’ve been in the Rose Bowl a few times.”
Towns got to catch up with a key member of the Irish staff during his trip.
“I spoke with Coach Gino [Guidugli] in the locker room after Notre Dame got the win,” Towns said. “It was a pleasant exchange.”
The 6-3, 205-pounder holds a long list of scholarship offers, including the likes of Ohio State, Tennessee, Washington, Georgia, SMU, Texas Tech and many others. Notre Dame isn’t on that list yet, but the Irish have yet to offer any signal-callers in the 2028 class.

Notre Dame takes its time extending quarterback offers, and it could be next March when Guidugli decides to offer a passer in the 2028 cycle.
“They want to see more film and evaluate me before they extend an offer,” Towns said.
Towns is hopeful and optimistic that the scholarship will come his way.
“When Notre Dame offers me, I’m going to reevaluate the experience of being there, how it made me feel, and go from there.”
Towns will visit Tennessee this weekend and could have trips to Indiana and Nebraska in November.
After three games of his sophomore season, Towns transferred high schools from Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian to Rancho Cucamonga. It’s our understanding that Towns has been unable to play the rest of his sophomore year due to the transfer.
Across three games, Towns completed 41 of 70 passes (59%) for 526 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions. As a freshman last year, he broke out by completing 63 percent of his passes for nearly 2,000 yards, 19 touchdowns and eight interceptions.
