Notre Dame 2024 four-star QB commit CJ Carr earns Elite 11 Finals invitation

Notre Dame’s future quarterback is headed to Southern California. 2024 four-star recruit CJ Carr picked up an invitation to the Elite 11 Finals after an outstanding performance at the Elite 11 Regional event in Massillon, Ohio, on Sunday.
The Elite 11 Finals occurs annually in Southern California during the summer.
The 6-foot-2 1/2, 195-pound Carr excelled all afternoon in Massillon (Ohio) Washington High’s indoor facility, hitting his targets precisely and putting perfect touch on his passes. Coaches and camp participants frequently complimented the Saline (Mich.) High junior during his workout.
Still, the last time he heard his name mentioned during Sunday’s event excited him the most.
“It felt great hearing my name up there,” said Carr, describing when they awarded him the invitation. “Only a select few have been selected this year, and only a select few get it every year. This is a big accomplishment, and I’m super blessed to be in the position that I am today.”
Carr also won the pro-day script accuracy challenge for the third consecutive year. 2024 quarterback and Colorado commit Danny O’Neil tied him with the same number of points.
“I thought I did really well,” Carr said. “There was like one or two balls that I wanted back to be a little bit more perfect. Three years in a row, I’ve been with my guy Danny O’Neil here, and he’s been chasing me all three years. We tied this year, which is a great opportunity to see him be excellent.

“It was great to be up here with him for the third year and win it again.”
Current Notre Dame quarterbacks also punched their ticket to the Elite 11 Finals
Carr will follow in the footsteps of Notre Dame 2023 quarterback signee Kenny Minchey by competing in the Elite 11 Finals. Current Notre Dame quarterbacks Sam Hartman and Tyler Buchner also competed in the 2018 and 2020 versions of the finals.
The On3 Industry Ranking — a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services — considers Carr the No. 47 overall player, No. 5 quarterback and No. 1 prospect in Michigan in 2024.
Carr is coming off a junior season in which he completed 222 of 326 (68.1%) passes for 2,685 yards, 26 touchdowns and five interceptions in 11 games. He also added 221 rushing yards and seven scores on 70 carries.
Carr verbally committed to Notre Dame on June 9. He was the first offensive player to lock in with the Irish in the 2024 class.
