Notre Dame officially adds Florida QB Noah Grubbs on National Signing Day
The Fighting Irish have recruited the quarterback position well over the past few years, and the trend continues with the official addition of Lake Mary (Fla.) High’s Noah Grubbs.
The 6-4.5, 195-pounder has been committed to Notre Dame since June 2024, and his pledge is now official. He put pen to paper on National Signing Day.
Grubbs comes to Notre Dame as one of the most prolific quarterbacks in Florida high school football history. Blue & Gold will do more research on exactly where Grubbs stands in the record books after his senior campaign ends. He’s had another impressive season.
In 13 games as a senior, he’s completed 185 of 319 attempts for 2,593 yards with 41 total touchdowns (35 passing, 6 rushing) and 9 interceptions. Grubbs is the lone Power Four conference recruit on the Lake Mary roster, and he’s led the Rams to reach the 7A Florida state semifinals.
Grubbs has been Lake Mary’s starting quarterback since game No. 4 of his freshman season and has never missed a game. He’s appeared in 51 contests and has thrown for 10,880 yards with 138 passing touchdowns, 15 rushing scores and 37 interceptions. His career QB rating is 110.7.
He has great size, arm talent and experience for the position, and with how much he’s played — especially in playoff action — Grubbs has seen it all at the high school level. He’s a student of the game, and his offensive coordinator, Adam Donnelly, gives Grubbs a lot of freedom at the line of scrimmage.
“That’s not something I’ve done before coaching high school,” Donnelly previously said. “I’ve always wanted to make it easier on my quarterback, but in college the expectation is that the quarterback will do that. I’ve usually had the running back [change protection]. But we changed how we did things to get him more prepared, and he’s done really well with it.”
Grubbs set the following Lake Mary school records in 2023: single-game passing touchdowns (8), single-game passing yardage (528), single-season passing touchdowns (49), single-season passing yards (3,677), most passes completed in a single game (31), single-season completions (207) and attempts (356) and is the school’s all-time leader in average yards per game (306.4).

The Orlando Touchdown Club and the Orlando Sentinel named him its 2023 Offensive Player of the Year.
During his junior season in 2024, he led Lake Mary to a 7A state championship game appearance.
What is Noah Grubbs ranked?
When Grubbs committed to the Irish, he was the No. 106 overall player and No. 9 quarterback in America per the On3 Industry Ranking (later changed to the Rivals Industry Ranking). But the ranking evaluators at the various websites have dropped him significantly since.
He’s now the No. 403 overall prospect and No. 28 signal-caller nationally.
Here’s what Rivals director of scouting and rankings Charles Power said about Grubbs’ ranking back in the spring:
“For a guy who is going to make his hay as a pocket passer, you want to see him improve with his overall consistency, accuracy and decision-making on a snap-to-snap basis as a senior. That’s where we are at with him.
“He’s improved his movement skills. He’s cut weight and you see him move around. He doesn’t have heavy feet, but from a play style perspective, he’s a pocket passer. He’s not going to do a ton with his legs. For a quarterback who is going to make his plays from inside the pocket, you want to see him continue to progress with his consistency and efficiency.”
We’ll see what the rankings say once evaluators review him after his senior season, but Notre Dame feels great about their newest quarterback signing.
